Counterintuitive according to the dictionary means contrary to intuition or to common-sense expectation (but often nevertheless true).

Meaning it is very hard to do, especially even by those who’ve been experienced in their expertise, counterintuition is something remarkable but rare. No offense, but not even a professor can do it easily. That’s true.

Contrary to our intuition and common-sense, meaning that we need to beat ourself, to excel ourself, we need to deceive ourself, our system, to be able to do for more of what the regular common-sense would be able to predict and forecast. To defy the law of gravity, in some way.

But I’ll tell you the easy explanation of counter-intuitiveness:

Eventually, intuition will lead you to do / think something counter-intuitive. Intuition will lead you to do great things, thinking about great ideas. It will lead to the higher ground, beyond the ordinary, outside of our own boundaries.

So basically, to become counterintuitive, you need to be intuitive (on the first place).

That statement itself is counterintuitive. And could only be concluded by a counterintuitive guy.

Remember, counterintuition is not a small thing. You probably don’t know how a big deal this is.
